Prof. Laurie L. Fajardo

Prof. Fajardo is a Professor of Radiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her radiology residency training and fellowship at the University of Arizona.  She has served in academic breast imaging faculty positions at the University of Arizona, the University of Virginia, Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, the University of Iowa (where she also served as the Department Chair for 10 years) and the University of Utah.  Prof. Fajardo was an innovator in the development of stereotactic core breast biopsy, digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis and breast biopsy markers.  She has participated in many multi-centered clinical trials evaluating new breast imaging technologies and therapies for breast cancer and has received several NIH, DOD and industry grants to support her research endeavors. She has served as a consultant to many national organizations including:  the Agency for Healthcare Policy and Research (Guideline Panel for Quality Determinants in Mammography), the NCI/NIH (Chair and member of many grant review panels, consensus development panels and strategic planning committees), the American College of Radiology (Commission on Economics, Appropriateness Criteria Development Committees, Practice Guideline Committees, Chair/Co-Chair - ACR Nominating Committee), the American College of Radiology Oncology Imaging Network - ACRIN (Executive/Steering Committee, Research Strategy Committee, Chair - Publications and Media Committee, Chair - Committee on Data Sharing, and Breast Clinical Trials Committee) and the Academy for Radiology Research.  She served as a member of the NIH Consensus Development Panel: Breast Cancer Screening in Women Ages 40-49, and on the Scientific Advisory Integration Panel for the USA MRDC-Army Breast Cancer Research Program. Prof. Fajardo has served on executive committees and in editorial positions for the JACR, Academic Radiology, Radiology, AJR and the newly launched Journal of Breast Imaging. Prof. Fajardo has been actively involved in academic breast imaging with respect to the development of clinical guidelines, best practices and the education of breast imaging postgraduate fellows.  She has delivered over 200 invited lectures and scientific papers nationally and internationally, and is the author of over 185 scientific papers.

Dr. Anna Russo

Dr. Anna Russo has been working at the Sacro Cuore - Don Calabria hospital in Negrar di Valpolicella, Verona (Italy) for 10 years. She is member of Italian Society of Radiology (SIRM) and its senology section as well as the European Society of Radiology (ESR). She is mainly involved in clinical mammography, with particular focus on Tomosynthesis, Tomobiopsy, Contrast mammography and breast MRI. She has participated as a speaker in a numbers of national and international congresses.

Born in Verona Italy 30/09/1986, graduated in medicine in 10/10/2012 and specialized in Radiology in 28/08/2017. I work in the Ospedale Sacro Cuore Don Calabria at Negrar di Valpolicella (Verona) 


since September 2017 mainly dealing with breast diagnostics and breast interventional procedures (ultrasound-guided biopsy and Tomo-guided biopsy).
